For Mac users, here is a link to a program that will convert the vids for you.
It's called "Flip4Mac"
Jo Suburi:
These suburi (basic exercises) were developed by Saito sensei. If you are not a member of our school, be sure to check with your instructor for stylistic differences.
Enjoy
Here is another version of the 20 Aikido Jo Suburi developed by Seito Sensei. These are slightly
different than the our version, but well worth studying. They are in .zip files, so you'll need either WinZip or some other extractor to get at them. Then you'll need Windows Media Player or some other compatible player to view them. Note the Word Doc in each zip file which will help walk you through them.
Enjoy!
KumiJo:
These are adaptations, variations and slight permutations of the Saotome Sensei Kumijo.
Enjoy
13 Count Jo Kata:
The 13 Count Jo Kata is probably the most popular Aikido weapons kata. It has many interpretations by many different highly qualified Aikidoka and Aikido organizations. Master Jeff has researched and learned all the versions he could find, consolidating them into what you see here.
Enjoy
Kanji:
Kanji is a jo kata developed by Master Jeff. The kata was designed to give the Aikidoka an enjoyable, exciting way to practice several jo suburi. Among the suburi included in the kata are tsuki, ushiro tsuki, gedan gaeshi, tenkan gedan gaeshi, hachi no ji gaeshi and shomenuchi. There are also hybrid techniques derived from other styles of weapon practice. See if you can find the "H pattern" and the "2-handed hachi no ji gaeshi." Obviously, the kata also includes mae geri, or front kicks.

Here is the original version of Energy, Master Jeff's jo kata creation.
Students of SMAKD, please note this form was changed significantly in early 2009.
Enjoy!
Here is the CURRENT version of Energy.
Students of SMAKD, this is the version required at testing.
Enjoy! (and practice ;)
Here is a text description of 10 bokken suburi. They are kind of a "mix-down" of ASU (Saotome sensei) style suburi. They are exactly what we practice at the BCM class. You'll need winzip or some other extractor to unzip them. They unzip to an MS Word document. Enjoy!
Bokken Suburi:
KumiTachi:
THE TECHNIQUES BELOW ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
Rick Iglesias and the other ukes (the people taking the throws, pins and projections) have trained for years to perfect the art of falling, rolling and twisting into a pin. They are essentially expert stuntmen. Master Jeff and the other nages (the ones doing the throwing, pinning and projecting) have trained for years to execute these techniques safely yet effectively - shown here pushing the level to a point just before injury. As you'll see, even though they've worked as a team for years, sometimes it still hurts - bad. Trying these techniques without properly supervised training will in all probability result in serious injury or death!
Basic 7:
"Basic 7" refers to the 7 basic techniques that our school considers fundamental to Aikido training. Colors correspond to the rank the techniques earn. These videos are supplementary only! Make sure you attend class for details and safety information. If you do not attend our school, the color codes most probably will NOT apply to your ranking system.

Gun KoteGaeshi:
A little something extra. This is simply an intense, armed version of any other KoteGaeshi. Careful when you're doing this that you don't ever aim the gun at yourself. Who knows when it will inadvertantly go off! Ouch.
